Job summary

Wates is offering a Planning Management Trainee programme in London to develop your ability to plan and coordinate the delivery of construction projects.

You'll learn from experienced planning professionals, gain exposure to pre-construction and site activities, and build skills in programming, monitoring and reporting against milestones.

Travel across project sites is expected, with a clear path to professional development and potential chartership as you progress through the scheme.

Qualifications

• Must have earned a bachelor's degree by September 2027 with 2:2 or higher
• Interest in planning and construction and a desire to develop in the built environment
• Willingness to travel across project sites within the region or nationally

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of construction programmes and schedules
• Assist with monitoring project progress and milestones
• Develop understanding of planning principles, methodologies and best practice
• Analyze project performance data and contribute to reports
• Collaborate with project, design, commercial and delivery teams
• Build relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners
• Attend site visits to gain practical insight into construction activities
• Support planning meetings and programme improvement discussions
• Understand how planning supports safe, efficient project delivery
