Job summary

Referment is recruiting an enthusiastic Buyer to join its procurement team in East London, supporting major construction and infrastructure projects across the UK. This hands-on role focuses on ensuring timely provision of materials, goods and services while helping to manage costs, supplier relationships and project delivery.

You will work with project, bid and operations teams to raise requisitions, source goods, and manage orders from start to finish, building strong supplier relationships

Qualifications

• Experience in buying, procurement or purchasing preferred, transferable skills welcomed.
• Experience in construction, engineering or infrastructure is advantageous.
• Highly organised, commercially aware and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with suppliers and internal project teams.
• CIPS qualification or progress towards one would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Source goods, services and materials against project requirements.
• Manage orders from requisition through to delivery.
• Work with project and bid teams to support delivery.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify alternative suppliers and solutions to minimise delays and risk.
• Support the development of the wider supply chain.
• Monitor procurement and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Promote procurement best practice across the business.
