Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Construction Planner (Highways) in Bolton for a respected civil engineering contractor. You will produce and maintain NEC3/NEC4 programmes from tender through live contracts, using Microsoft Project, in a fast-moving northwest environment.

You should have civil/highways planning experience, NEC understanding, and strong coordination with estimators, project managers and site teams to ensure programmes reflect methods and constraints.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts in civil/highways projects.
• Advanced MS Project proficiency for programme development.
• Ability to extract data from drawings and tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Produce, maintain and update NEC3/NEC4 construction programmes.
• Develop programmes across tender, pre-construction and live stages.
• Extract key information from drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Develop detailed programmes using Microsoft Project.
• Collaborate with Estimators, PMs, Engineers and site teams.
• Ensure programmes reflect methods, sequencing and project needs.
• Create programmes for works within live traffic and constrained environments.

Are you a Construction Planner with experience across Civil Engineering or Highways projects, looking to join a well-established contractor with an extensive forward order book and long-term framework agreements across the Northwest?

Do you have strong knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and advanced MS Project experience, looking for a technically varied position where you will take programmes from tender and pre-construction to final delivery?

The company are a Civil Engineering and Highways contractor who have over 75 years of experience delivering infrastructure projects throughout the Northwest of England.

They work extensively with local and transport authorities, delivering complex schemes including highways improvements, drainage, junction upgrades, public infrastructure and associated civil engineering works.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Construction Planner to join a highly regarded contractor where you will play an integral role in planning major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The Role:

• Produce, maintain and update detailed NEC3 and NEC4 compliant construction programmes
• Develop programmes across tender, pre-construction and live contract stages
• Extract key information from construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Develop detailed programmes using Microsoft Project
• Work closely with Estimators, Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, Traffic Management Managers and site teams
• Ensure programmes accurately reflect construction methodologies, sequencing and project requirements
• Develop programmes for works within live traffic and other constrained environments

The Person:

• Background within Civil Engineering or Highways
• Working knowledge of NEC3 and / or NEC4 contracts
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project
