Job summary

Barratt Redrow plc is seeking a Forklift Driver to support site operations across UK developments. You will help deliver materials to site, manage storage, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

You will communicate with the Site Manager, monitor deliveries for shortages, maintain equipment, and uphold the company’s high safety and efficiency standards on busy housing sites.

Qualifications

• Experience on large domestic volume house building sites.
• Hold a valid FLT (forklift) licence and a full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate Health and Safety awareness.
• Have a CSCS or partner scheme card.
• Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Regularly communicate with Site Manager to keep up to date with changes to the construction programme.
• Advise Site Manager of shortages of blocks and bricks and level of silo mix to prevent delays.
• Ensure deliveries are checked for quality and quantity; record any defects.
• Store and label materials correctly in the store areas.
• Ensure waste materials are loaded into correct site skips.
• Advise on defective/damaged materials when loading or collecting.
• Ensure forklift is inspected daily and weekly plant registers are updated.
• Keep forklift clean and roadworthy at all times; carry out routine maintenance.
• Inspect plant attachments weekly and record in the Plant Register.
• Adhere to safe working practices and report issues to the site manager.
• Ensure materials loaded on platforms allow loading bay gates to be closed.
• Carry out labouring duties as required.
