Job summary

ERM seeks an experienced Managing Consultant – Construction Environmental Manager to lead on-site environmental management for major infrastructure construction projects. You will ensure compliance with permits, consent conditions and regulatory obligations, while guiding project teams and contractors toward sustainable, responsible delivery.

You will act as the primary environmental contact on-site, oversee CEMPs, monitor mitigation measures, and drive continual improvement through inspections,

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental management on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to implement and monitor Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
• Excellent communication with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance and management activities during construction on major projects.
• Act as on-site environmental lead, ensuring requirements are implemented and communicated.
• Monitor mitigation measures, environmental performance and legal obligations.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and investigations of incidents.
• Prepare environmental reports and dashboards for project leadership and regulators.
• Mentor junior environmental professionals and support business development.
