Job summary

ERM is seeking an experienced Managing Consultant – Construction Environmental Manager to lead on-site environmental delivery for major infrastructure projects across the UK. You will be the environmental lead on site, ensuring compliance with permits, consent conditions, and regulatory obligations while guiding project teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction environmental management within the UK infrastructure sector.
• Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Ecology, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience leading environmental management during construction of major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience implementing and monitoring Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
• Willingness to travel and hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance and environmental management activities during construction.
• Act as the primary environmental on-site contact for project teams and contractors.
• Ensure activities comply with consent conditions, permits, licences, and management plans.
• Support and monitor CEMP implementation and mitigation measures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring to identify risks.
