ERM is seeking an experienced and motivated Managing Consultant – Construction Environmental Manager to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects during the construction phase. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of project delivery, providing on-site environmental leadership and ensuring construction activities are undertaken in compliance with environmental commitments, consent requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Working across sectors including electricity transmission and distribution, renewable energy, hydrogen, solar, and onshore wind, you will play a critical role in helping clients translate environmental commitments into practical construction controls, ensuring projects are delivered responsibly, sustainably, and in line with regulatory expectations.
As a senior member of the team, you will act as the environmental lead on site, working closely with construction teams, contractors, clients, environmental specialists, and regulators to manage environmental risk and drive a culture of environmental excellence throughout project delivery.
As a Construction Environmental Manager, you will lead environmental compliance and environmental management activities during construction. You will act as the primary environmental point of contact on-site, ensuring environmental requirements are effectively implemented, monitored, and communicated across all project activities.
You will work closely with project teams to identify environmental risks, resolve compliance issues, and ensure mitigation measures and monitoring commitments are delivered effectively throughout construction.
Effective environmental management during construction is essential to delivering infrastructure projects safely, responsibly, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. As a Construction Environmental Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring environmental commitments made during the consenting process are successfully implemented on the ground.
Your expertise will help clients reduce environmental risk, maintain programme certainty, foster positive stakeholder relationships, and demonstrate environmental leadership throughout construction.
