Job summary

Carbon 60 is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management across construction phases on a major UK infrastructure programme. You will operate on site in a live, multidisciplinary team and ensure compliance with legal, contractual and client requirements.

You will coordinate environmental surveys, monitoring and reporting, intervene on incidents, and drive sustainable practices across civils, M&E, logistics and subcontractors to keep the site risk under control.

Qualifications

• Experience managing environmental compliance on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to engage regulators and client stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and construction EMS.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental management and compliance across construction activities.
• Advise project teams, the client and regulators on environmental matters.
• Coordinate environmental surveys, monitoring and reporting across multiple work fronts.
• Manage environmental incidents from identification through close-out and corrective action.
• Drive continuous improvement and embed sustainable practices into day-to-day construction delivery.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to keep environmental risk under control on site.
