BCL Legal is recruiting a Construction Disputes Solicitor/Associate (1-5 PQE) for a Birmingham-based role within a national firm. The team handles high-value contentious construction matters across public and private sectors and offers flexible, hybrid working options.

Ideal candidates will have 1-5 PQE in construction or commercial disputes, strong drafting skills, and a proactive approach to development within a leading practice. A collaborative, supportive culture is emphasised.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years' PQE with experience in construction or commercial disputes.
• Exposure to adjudication and/or litigation within the construction or projects space.
• Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work effectively as part of a wider team.
• Excellent communication skills and a commercial, client-focused approach.
• A proactive and ambitious mindset, with a genuine interest in developing within a leading construction team.

Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of contentious construction matters, including final account disputes, loss and expense claims, defects and delay claims.
• Acting on adjudications, mediations and court proceedings, including high-value and multi-party disputes.
• Supporting on complex PFI/PPP and infrastructure-related disputes.
• Working with a diverse client base including local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, developers, contractors and funders.
• Exposure to multi-million-pound PFI and infrastructure disputes; high-value adjudications.
• Collaborating closely with partners and colleagues across a national platform.
