BCL Legal is recruiting a Construction Disputes Solicitor/Associate (1-5 PQE) for a Birmingham-based role within a national firm. The team handles high-value contentious construction matters across public and private sectors and offers flexible, hybrid working options.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of contentious construction matters, including final account disputes, loss and expense claims, defects and delay claims.
• Acting on adjudications, mediations and court proceedings, including high-value and multi-party disputes.
• Supporting on complex PFI/PPP and infrastructure-related disputes.
• Working with a diverse client base including local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, developers, contractors and funders.
• Exposure to multi-million-pound PFI and infrastructure disputes; high-value adjudications.
• Collaborating closely with partners and colleagues across a national platform.

The Role

This opportunity sits within a highly regarded construction disputes team operating across multiple UK offices, working seamlessly on complex and high-profile matters.

Key aspects of the role

• Advising on a broad range of contentious construction matters, including final account disputes, loss and expense claims, defects and delay claims.
• Acting on adjudications, mediations and court proceedings, including high-value and multi-party disputes.
• Supporting on complex PFI/PPP and infrastructure-related disputes.

• Exposure to significant matters such as:
  • Multi-million-pound PFI and infrastructure disputes.
  • High-value adjudications involving payment and contractual interpretation issues.

• Contributing to business development initiatives and client relationship management.

About You

• 1-5 years' PQE with experience in construction or commercial disputes.
