Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins LLP in Manchester seeks an Associate in Projects & Construction Disputes. You will join a team of fee earners advising on large-scale development and infrastructure projects, resolving disputes, and supporting risk management and contract interpretation.

The role offers exposure to international matters and opportunities for client development, while aligning with the firm’s collaborative culture and industry leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 2 years' experience in contentious construction.
• Excellent technical skills.
• Strong client focus and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients including regional and national contractors and developers, local and central government departments, registered providers operating in the commercial / private and public sectors on complex construction projects.
• Advising on dispute resolution, including adjudication, mediation, the resolution of claims under the pre-action protocol for construction and engineering disputes and litigation
• Advising on dispute avoidance, risk management and contractual interpretation
• Domestic projects in the main but with the opportunity to become involved in international matters
• Building and maintaining effective client relationships.
• Actively participating in marketing initiatives.
• Proactive involvement in the wider life of the firm, for example supporting our responsible business, social impact and ED&I initiatives.
