Job summary

A leading national law firm in Manchester is seeking an Associate in the Projects & Construction (Contentious) team. You will advise on complex construction projects, disputes and risk management, with potential involvement in international matters.

The role offers strong supervision, progression opportunities and a collaborative, client-focused culture. The role requires a qualified solicitor with 2+ years in contentious construction, excellent technical skills and a strong academic record,

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor with 2 years’ experience in contentious construction.
Excellent technical skills and a strong academic record.
Strong client focus and commercial awareness.
Credibility, drive and enthusiasm.
Willingness to learn and develop your understanding of the construction sector.

Responsibilities

Advising regional and national contractors, developers, local and central government bodies and registered providers on complex construction projects.
Advising on dispute resolution, including adjudication, mediation, claims under the pre-action protocol for construction and engineering disputes, and litigation.
Advising on dispute avoidance, risk management and contractual interpretation.
Working mainly on domestic projects, with the opportunity to become involved in international matters.
Building and maintaining effective client relationships.
Taking part in marketing initiatives and the wider life of the firm, including responsible business, social impact and ED&I initiatives.
