Base Location - 4 positions, 1 for each region:

  • South East - Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Aldershot, Petersfield, IOW
  • Thames Valley - Reading, Slough, Theale, West London (London Allowance applicable)
  • Ridgeway - Swindon, Andover, Melksham, Oxford
  • Wessex - Poole, New Forest, Yeovil, Salisbury

Salary: SS09 £58,630 – £68,098 (based on experience and authorisations) + car/cash allowance + benefits.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

We’re seeking 4 Construction Delivery Managers to oversee overhead line plant replacement and automation projects across regional areas within SEPD. Responsibilities include managing multiple construction teams, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency from LV to 33kV projects.

This role involves safety management, productivity oversight, monthly forecasting, and supporting the L3 Construction Manager to meet volume and financial targets for asset health, maintenance, and investment programmes valued at £40–100m over ED2.

You will lead an integrated team, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure strong customer focus, commercial control, and collaboration. Essential qualities include leadership, communication, and a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities include:
  • Safety Leadership & Culture: Champion safety-first culture, ensure training, supervision, and continuous SHE improvement.
  • Project & Portfolio Management: Lead end-to-end delivery of system asset projects, ensuring timely completion, viability, and KPI alignment.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage, coach, and develop operational teams and contractors.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality interactions and project visibility.
  • Operational & Emergency Readiness: Oversee resource planning, storm and emergency responses, and restoration efforts.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in utility construction delivery, managing overhead line replacement, automation, and multi-voltage projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of SHE standards, safety management systems, and governance frameworks.
  • Financial and commercial acumen, with budget management experience.
  • Project management expertise and stakeholder engagement skills.
