Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey is seeking a Contractual Advisor to provide contract advice and guidance to our construction teams on high-value projects across sectors in the UK. The role focuses on delivering expert contract support within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a law or construction-related degree and have working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, with 1–4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent qualification, in law or a construction related field such as QS, Civil Engineering, or Project Management.
• Working knowledge of the NEC and JCT suite of contracts.
• 1–4 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating main contract amendments
• Generating subcontract documents
• Assisting the project team in negotiating the terms and conditions of subcontract packages
• Delivering advice on how the main contract/subcontract operates
• Provide ad hoc support on contractual matters
• Prepare and deliver training seminars on standard forms and amended contract terms.
