Job summary

Mulalley & Co. Limited is seeking an experienced Competency Manager to Head Office (Woodford Green) and sites. The role ensures staff and subcontractors meet high standards of skills, safety, and compliance across projects, managing competency frameworks and training verification.

You will identify skills gaps, coordinate development programs with HR and Training, and drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement with regular senior management reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in competency management, training or compliance in construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and health & safety legislation.
• Familiar with accreditation bodies (e.g., NVQs, CSCS) and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage competency frameworks for staff and supply chain.
• Verify qualifications, certifications and training suitability before deployment.
• Identify skills gaps and coordinate training programs with HR and Training.
• Support prequalification processes for the supply chain and maintain the database.
• Provide regular reports on workforce competency and compliance to senior management.
• Promote safety, professionalism and continuous improvement culture.
