Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is expanding its Raynesway site in Derby and is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage procurement for major project packages. You will establish and support ongoing procurement activities, drive supplier engagement, and ensure adherence to internal policies and processes.

You will create supply chain strategies, procurement schedules, and supply chain intelligence reports while supporting other procurement teams on the programme.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience within a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role.
• Proven track record of delivering results and meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident negotiation skills with ability to secure commercial value and build supplier relationships.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
• Team-oriented yet able to work independently and take initiative.
• Customer-focused mindset delivering outstanding service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearances.
