Balfour Beatty plc is expanding its Raynesway site in Derby and is seeking a proactive Buyer to manage procurement for major project packages. You will establish and support ongoing procurement activities, drive supplier engagement, and ensure adherence to internal policies and processes.

You will create supply chain strategies, procurement schedules, and supply chain intelligence reports while supporting other procurement teams on the programme.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience within a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role.
• Proven track record of delivering results and meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

About the role

Balfour Beatty has been selected by Rolls-Royce as its construction partner to support the expansion of its Raynesway site in Derby, and we are looking for a Buyer to join the team.

We're looking for a dynamic individual who can initially support one of our major projects through establishment and provide ongoing support of procurement activity.

A accountable for conducting tenders and obtaining quotes, analysing data, regular reporting and ensuring compliance to internal policies and procedures. The Buyer, as part of the wider Programme Procurement team, will be expected to support any initiatives and processes, and actively contribute to the delivery of the team’s strategy. The role will require regular supplier and subcontractor sourcing, engagement and support.

The successful candidate will be a point of contact for the Programme Team within the project applicable. They will be responsible for running the procurement activity for given packages of work, fulfilling significant / complex material requisitions to point of order as well as supporting with supply chain. This includes accountability for the creation of Supply Chain Strategies, Intelligence Reports, Procurement Schedules as well as support of other procurement teams on the Programme. The successful candidate will also be tasked with ensuring utilisation of group agreements by the business and the subcontract supply chain.
