Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Buyer to join the procurement team in Rotherham. The role covers purchasing across materials, plant and subcontracted services, working closely with project managers, site teams and suppliers to stay on time and on budget.

The ideal candidate has buying experience in construction or the built environment, strong negotiation skills, and a good grasp of construction materials markets.

Qualifications

• Previous buying/procurement experience within construction, civil engineering or the built environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to deliver cost savings.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, plant and subcontractor markets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems.
• CIPS qualification, or working towards it, would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the purchasing process across materials, plant and subcontracted services.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
