Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established construction business to recruit an experienced Buyer to join its procurement team in Rotherham.

You’ll own the purchasing process across materials, plant and subcontracted services, working with project managers, site teams and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. A CIPS qualification or progress towards it is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in buying/procurement within construction, civil engineering or built environment.
• Strong negotiation skills with proven cost-saving results.
• Knowledge of construction materials, plant and subcontractor markets.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisation and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems.
• CIPS qualification or working towards it is advantageous.

Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established construction business to recruit an experienced Buyer to join its procurement team in Rotherham.

This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional with experience across construction, building materials, civil engineering or the wider built environment to join a growing business with genuine opportunities for progression and involvement in high-profile projects.

You’ll take ownership of the purchasing process across materials, plant and subcontracted services, working closely with project managers, site teams and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Previous buying/procurement experience within construction, civil engineering or the built environment
• Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to deliver cost savings
• Good knowledge of construction materials, plant and subcontractor markets
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems
• CIPS qualification, or working towards it, would be advantageous but isn’t essential
