Job summary

Aon is seeking a Construction Broker/Account Handler in a hybrid role based in Liverpool or Manchester. You will serve UK Construction clients, handling bespoke insurance needs and building relationships with clients and industry professionals.

You will deliver high-quality service, prepare market presentations, negotiate terms, and contribute to accurate documentation and reporting while identifying opportunities for revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Understanding of construction insurance and its specialist marketplace.
• Phenomenal communication skills for collaborating with clients, colleagues and underwriters.
• First class IT, data and Excel skills with a close eye for detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare market presentations for client enquiries to insurers, including project-specific placements and latent defects coverage.
• Negotiate policy terms for clients.
• Attend and arrange meetings with clients, underwriters and colleagues.
• Ensure regulatory and other standards are met and assist with documentation and record keeping.
• Identify revenue development opportunities on allocated client accounts and advise Client Managers.
• Liaise with broking colleagues in Construction, Commercial Risk and the wider Aon network.
• Maintain accurate updates and reporting from spreadsheets.

What the day will look like

Working within our highly respected UK Construction team you'll ensure the highest levels of service and technical advice are delivered to our portfolio of clientele. Daily responsibilities will include:

• Piecing together and preparing market presentations to broke clients’ enquiries to insurers – including Project Specific placements and Latent Defects coverage.
• Negotiate policy terms for clients
• Attend and arrange meetings with clients, underwriters and colleagues
• Complying with regulatory and other standards as directed by line management including helping to build accurate and timely documentation, drafting of bespoke slip and wording for stamping by insurers, record keeping and file notes.
• Identifying revenue development opportunities on allocated client accounts and making recommendations to Client Managers
• Liaising and interacting with broking colleagues in Construction, Commercial Risk and the wider Aon network
• Accurate updating and reporting from spreadsheets
