Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group is seeking a Conference & Events Manager to join our Operations team. The role reports directly to the Venue Manager and requires the candidate to reside in the UK and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.

You will oversee programs to ensure profitable operation, high-quality products and service levels, and supervise culinary and service teams, coordinating between teams, ensuring accurate counts, reviewing menus, enforcing safety, and maintaining cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of progressive experience in a conference center or related field.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of service standards and different service types.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules, liquor laws.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and set up culinary service quickly and efficiently for participants and ensure it follows The Program Execution Order.
• Supervise the service team and support staff including setup, utilities, maintenance, and security.
• Coordinate culinary service between the culinary team and service team.
• Keep culinary informed of accurate counts.
• Review menu/service with production and culinary teams.
• Enforce all rules and regulations and ability to carry out safety and emergency programs.
• Monitor all beverage consumption.
• Follow health and safety regulations and ensure sanitation of service areas.
