Job summary

Convene is seeking a Conference and Events Supervisor in Manchester to lead our on-site operations during busy event periods. You’ll ensure seamless service, supervise the team, and coordinate culinary and service activities to deliver standout experiences.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a conference environment, strong knowledge of service standards, and the ability to work long hours. Join us to help our guests feel welcome and valued at every event.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in a conference center or related field.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of service standards and service types.
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques and health/regulations.
• Ability to work long hours and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and set up the service of culinary in a quick, efficient manner according to the Program Execution Order.
• Supervise the service team and support staff including setup, utilities, maintenance, and security.
• Coordinate culinary service between culinary and service teams.
• Monitor inventory and maintain accurate counts.
• Enforce rules, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
• Lead ongoing training to maintain service standards.
• Manage opening/closing inspection duties and cleanliness.
• Ensure client satisfaction and courteous guest interactions.
• Adhere to hygiene procedures and grooming standards.
• Lead service technician duties during shifts.
