Job summary

Caritas Diocese of Salford is seeking a Concierge/Housekeeper for Caritas House to provide a high-quality concierge service and ensure cleanliness, safety, and security of the building. You will welcome residents, control access, handle emergencies, monitor CCTV, and respond to enquiries with professionalism.

The role includes cleaning communal areas, waste management, and preparing rooms for new residents, with appropriate safety training.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential.
• Experience of managing security for a property and/or building.
• Will undertake health and safety and hygiene training as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to residents and be responsible for controlling access to the building and providing the first point of contact.
• Deal with emergencies, answer telephone calls, conduct building checks and monitor CCTV to identify incidents and take prompt action.
• Clean communal areas, manage waste, and clean resident rooms when they leave and prepare them for new residents.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety aspects relevant to this position.

Job description

Caritas House offers a pathway out of homelessness for single men with low support needs, it provides high-quality, single-room accommodation with 24-hour staffing for 19 men. We are looking to recruit a Concierge/Housekeeper to ensure a high-quality concierge service, as well as maintaining responsibility for the cleanliness and security of our accommodation building.

You will provide excellent customer service to residents and be responsible for controlling access to the building and providing the first point of contact. You will be dealing with emergencies, answering telephone calls, conducting building checks and monitoring CCTV to identify any incidents and taking prompt and appropriate action when required. You will also be responsible for cleaning the communal areas, waste management and for cleaning resident rooms when they leave and prepare them for new residents.

You will be required to maintain up to date knowledge of all aspects of safety relevant to this position and undertake health and safety and hygiene training as required.

Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential, as well as experience of managing security for a property and/or building.

The hours of the role are

Week 1: Monday and Friday, 12:15pm-21:15pm, Saturday and Sunday 09:00am-21:15pm

Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 12:15pm-21:15pm
