Job summary

Imperial College London seeks a Research Associate in Computational Biomolecular Physics to push the development of de novo sequencing tools using mass spectrometry data. The role unites physics, computation and proteomics in a UKRI-NSF supported programme with Imperial, UCSD and European partners.

You will build novel algorithms, analyze complex data, and contribute to experimental campaigns in a multidisciplinary team at Imperial’s South Kensington campus.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics or closely related field with strong computational focus.
• Proven ability to develop novel algorithms and apply data-analysis techniques.
• Experience with scientific software and machine learning approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced computational algorithms to reconstruct peptide sequences from mass spectral data without databases.
• Engage in mass spectral data acquisition in an analytical MS laboratory and collaborate with international partners.
• Liaise with project partners and contribute to data campaigns and publications.
