Job summary

Imperial College London’s London Biofoundry is seeking a Research Associate in Mass Spectrometry. The successful candidate will develop high-throughput MS workflows and automated sample preparation, collaborating with the Biofoundry team to accelerate strain engineering and screening workflows.

You will operate advanced MS platforms, contribute to metabolomics/proteomics analyses, and work within an international, cutting-edge research environment at Imperial’s new White City campus.

Job description

The research project is funded at the Biofoundry through . The position will be based at the , a cutting-edge Engineering Biology lab on Imperial’s new White City campus with an integrated SynBio stack bringing together in-house DNA synthesis, high-throughput liquid handling, sequencers, high-end plate readers, microscopes, flow cytometers, bioreactors and analytical instruments to speed up strain engineering and screening workflows. The project will interface with several teams in the drug discovery, strain engineering and AMR community at Imperial including the , , , and international teams at the .

You will develop novel workflows for high-throughput mass spectrometry at the London Biofoundry in collaboration with the Biofoundry team, national and international partners. These projects will include the design and execution of fully automated sample preparation workflows, analysis on high-throughput Echo-MS QQQ and TOF systems and the analysis of complex samples across compound screens, direct-to-biology workflows and metabolomics and proteomics in enzyme and strain engineering campaigns.
