Job summary

The Francis Crick Institute is seeking a Bioinformatician/Computational Biologist for a full-time, fixed-term (5 years) position in London. You will analyse complex genomic and multi-omic datasets, including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq, and contribute to experimental design and data interpretation within the Malanchi Lab.

You will develop and maintain bioinformatics tools, work in UNIX/Linux environments, and collaborate with scientists to translate computational findings

Qualifications

• A degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, Java, C/C++ or Perl.
• Hands-on experience with NGS data (bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq).
• Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and data management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and integrate large-scale genomic and multi-omic datasets.
• Work with bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, methylome and proteomic data.
• Develop computational approaches and algorithms to answer complex biological questions.
• Identify patterns and signatures within datasets and translate into biological insights.
• Collaborate with scientists to inform experimental design and data interpretation.
• Develop and maintain bioinformatics tools, software and databases.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the analysis process.
• Communicate findings through project discussions, reports and publications.
• Keep up to date with emerging bioinformatics approaches.
