Imperial College London is seeking a highly motivated researcher to advance mass spectrometry workflows at the London Biofoundry, collaborating with a global team. You will design automated sample preparation and analyze samples across screens and metabolomics/proteomics campaigns.
The post is full-time (35h/week), fixed-term for 24 months from Oct 2026, with potential for extension. Officially the role accommodates PhD status with salary guidance for non-PhD applicants.
You will develop novel workflows for high-throughput mass spectrometry at the London Biofoundry in collaboration with the Biofoundry team, national and international partners. These projects will include the design and execution of fully automated sample preparation workflows, analysis on high-throughput Echo-MS QQQ and TOF systems and the analysis of complex samples across compound screens, direct-to-biology workflows and metabolomics and proteomics in enzyme and strain engineering campaigns.
We are looking for a highly motivated and focused team member who will enjoy advancing both technical lab capabilities and analysis workflows in a very collaborative and international environment supported by cutting-edge research platforms.
This is a full-time post (35h per week),fixed-term contract for 24 months starting from October 2026 with potential for extension.

*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range £45,399 - £48,876 per annum.
