Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland in the Midlands seeks a Laminator for the Composite Laminating Department, crafting pre-preg carbon components for automotive, aerospace, defence and marine sectors. The role uses vacuum bagging and autoclave curing and reports to the Team Leader.

You will ensure timely production, maintain high quality standards, and keep work areas safe and tidy, following procedures, PPE and site rules.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with pre-preg autoclave processes and materials (carbon and glass).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work instructions.
  • Good verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with inspection and maintenance of tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Laminating of parts and tooling across a broad range of products.
  • Checking information on drawings is clear.
  • Checking route card instructions are correct.
  • Help develop processes to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Inspection and maintenance of the patterns / moulds prior to use and report any defects to the team leader.
  • To be responsible for the breakout of parts post cure and identify defects.
  • Keep all equipment maintained.
  • Ensure the department/work area is kept clean and tidy.

Job Profile

We are looking for Laminators to join the Composite Laminating Department, manufacturing visual carbon components, for automotive, aerospace, defence and marine customers. All components are pre-preg material, vacuum-bagged and autoclave cured, candidates are expected to be familiar and experienced with this method of manufacture.

Reporting into the Team Leader, this role is to support the Team Leader in the efficient running of the department by meeting job timescales and demands, whilst completing jobs to the highest of standards

Motor-sport / Automotive / aerospace / defence composite experience highly desirable.
