JD.com is looking for a Compliance Operations Associate to support compliance and product operations in the UK and EU. This role involves maintaining regulatory documentation, managing compliance obligations, and coordinating license applications. We are seeking a detail-oriented and process-driven Compliance Operations Associate to support our compliance and product operations across the UK and EU markets. This role plays a key part in maintaining regulatory documentation, coordinating product license applications, managing environmental reporting, and supporting various compliance-related operational tasks. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and external regulatory bodies to ensure our products and packaging meet all relevant obligations.
Maintain and update compliance procedure handbooks for different product categories, based on evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and manage packaging and environmental compliance obligations (e.g. plastic tax, Extended Producer Responsibility, CBAM, EUDR) across the UK and EU.
Calculate customs clearance and import-related fees, ensuring fair and accurate allocation at SKU level.
Support license and permit applications across product categories (e.g. food, electronics, cosmetics, etc.).
Coordinate tasks related to deposit return schemes (e.g. bottle deposit systems) and similar national recycling regulations.
Liaise with internal departments and regulatory agencies where necessary to support audits or documentation requests.
Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Supply Chain or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in compliance operations, regulatory support, or supply chain projects, ideally within retail or e-commerce.
Familiarity with local regulatory bodies and environmental obligations in the UK and EU.
Comfortable with regulatory research, documentation management, and reporting tasks.
Experience using Excel (intermediate level), and ideally Power BI or project tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Trello).
Excellent attention to detail and strong logical reasoning.
Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is an asset, but not required.
