Job summary

AJ FOX COMPLIANCE in London is seeking a Compliance Officer to support the Business Acceptance team across conflict searches, client and matter openings, sanctions screening and due diligence. You will have AML and conflicts knowledge, be able to engage senior stakeholders, prioritise under pressure, and adapt to changing processes.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required in a relevant field.
• Proven compliance experience within a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering legislation and conflicts rules.

Responsibilities

• Analyse conflict search results using Intapp Open to identify potential regulatory and commercial conflicts and help facilitate their resolution.
• Manage incoming requests for new clients and new matters, ensuring business acceptance requirements are addressed efficiently.
• Research new clients for client due diligence purposes and support fee earners in obtaining the required information and documentation.
• Implement and maintain information barriers in accordance with relevant requirements.
• Conduct sanctions screening and escalate potential concerns appropriately.
• Work closely with IT and Accounts to resolve issues and maintain effective processes.
• Assist with testing software upgrades and other technology changes relevant to the Business Acceptance team.
• Contribute to the consistent application of AML and conflicts procedures across the firm’s international operations.
• Build knowledge of relevant systems, processes, and procedures while responding effectively to changing business needs.

We are working with a highly regarded international law firm to hire a Compliance Officer in London. You will support the Business Acceptance team across conflict searches, new business intake, client and matter openings, sanctions screening, information barriers, and client due diligence in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

The firm is looking for a Compliance Officer with proven experience in an established law firm compliance function, strong knowledge of anti-money laundering legislation and conflicts rules, and excellent research and communication skills. You will be confident engaging senior stakeholders, able to prioritise under pressure, and comfortable adapting to changing processes. An undergraduate degree is required; Intapp Open experience is desirable.
