Job summary

Larbey Evans Ltd in London is seeking a Head of Conflicts to join our Risk and Compliance team. This hybrid role combines leadership of a conflicts analysts group with strategic process improvement across global matters and direct reporting to the Risk and Compliance Partner.

You will identify and resolve conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues, draft waivers, train partners and staff worldwide, and lead internal investigations while shaping firm-wide policies using IntApp Open/Wall

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with extensive conflicts experience in a global firm.
• 10+ years of experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the internal conflicts improvements project.
• Identify and resolve conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues.
• Draft waivers and consent language for conflicts.
• Update terms of business related to conflicts.
• Lead internal investigations on conflicts matters.
• Develop and update conflicts policies and procedures.
• Provide global training on conflicts and confidentiality.
• Report regularly to management and Conflicts Committee.

Head of Conflicts

Leading entrepreneurial global law firm is seeking a new Head of Conflicts to join their London office to directly support a Risk and Compliance Partner.

The Head of Conflicts will report to the Risk and Compliance Partner and will be required to conduct a gap analysis and to train and build up a team of Conflicts Analysts. Line management and supervision of those currently running conflict checks will be required.

Head of Conflicts – What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead on and successfully deliver a large-scale project to implement improvements to the firm's internal conflicts processes and procedures
• Identify and resolve potential conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues arising from client matters, lateral hires and mergers
• Draft waivers and consent language required in the resolution of conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues
• Update the conflicts and confidentiality provisions in the firm's Terms of Business, as may be necessary from time to time
• Lead on internal investigations and other queries which involve conflict of interest or confidentiality issues
• Draft and update the firm's internal conflicts of interest policies and procedures
• Provide training to partners and staff, globally, on conflicts of interest and confidentiality
• Regularly report to the firm's management, Conflicts Committee and partners on conflicts related issues

Head of Conflicts – What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified lawyer with preferably 10 years of experience as a Conflicts Lawyer in an international firm
• Strong people management skills and experience of successfully leading a team
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrable strategic and leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving and holistic risk assessment abilities
• In-depth and hands-on experience of using IntApp suite of products (Open, Walls etc)
