Tradewind Recruitment is hiring a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Tameside, Greater Manchester. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs, including ASC, SLD, PMLD, and communication challenges, working closely with teachers and therapists to enable access to a tailored curriculum.

The role requires a patient, resilient approach, strong teamwork, and the ability to support personal care and interventions.

Qualifications

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a specialist school in Tameside seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), communication needs and associated behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to help pupils access a tailored and engaging curriculum.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Support the delivery of individual learning plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Encourage pupil independence and celebrate progress, however small.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, complex needs, healthcare needs or within a care setting.
