Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist secondary SEND school in Newcastle. You will support pupils with a range of complex needs, helping them access learning, develop communication and regulation skills, and build independence all within a structured environment.

You will work alongside teachers and specialists, following EHCPs, and contribute to positive outcomes while benefiting from CPD training, a dedicated local consultant, and ongoing

Qualifications

• Experience within SEND, education, care, youth work or support work is beneficial.
• Transferable experience welcome.

Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – Newcastle

Protocol Education is recruiting a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist secondary SEND school in Newcastle, supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs.

You’ll help create a structured, supportive environment where pupils can learn, develop and build greater independence.

Your day could include

• Supporting pupils individually or in small groups
• Helping young people access learning
• Developing communication and interaction
• Supporting emotional regulation
• Encouraging positive behaviour
• Helping pupils develop independence
• Supporting practical and life-skills sessions
• Following EHCPs and individual support plans
• Working alongside teachers and specialist professionals
• Recognising and celebrating individual progress

You will need
