Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs in a specialist SEND school in Gateshead. You will help pupils access learning, support communication, and assist with emotional and sensory regulation.

Location: Gateshead. Start: September 2026. Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm or 4:30pm. Pay: £98–£120 per day. The role involves working closely with teachers and other professionals to monitor progress and develop life skills.

Protocol Education are recruiting for a resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEND school in Gateshead.

You’ll support pupils who may require significant additional support with communication, learning, behaviour, sensory regulation and independence.

No two days will be exactly the same, so we’re looking for someone who can adapt, stay calm and keep a positive approach when things don’t go to plan.

The Role
