Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a Wakefield Primary School. The role commences September 2026, is full-time and long-term, and involves supporting students with a range of needs.

You will employ multi-sensory teaching approaches, use visual aids and working walls, and deliver 1:1 or small-group sessions while following IEPs and care plans to support pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with complex needs.
• Understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support pupils with additional needs.
• Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group interventions under supervision.
• Ability to follow individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour support plans, and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-sensory teaching approaches
• Use physical objects and visual aids to support teaching
• Use ‘working walls’, checklists and graphic organisers to reduces memory load
• Provide 1:1 short and daily sessions to target specific skills
• Make relevant environmental adjustments for individual students
• Provide tailored support to students with complex needs
