Job summary

Thriving Healthcare is seeking an experienced Complex Care Team Leader in Rotherham to lead a 2:1, 24-hour package for an individual with severe acquired brain injury and significant disabilities. You will build a capable team, promote professional standards and ensure rehabilitation-focused support in the client's home.

The role requires leadership, resilience, and strong relationship-building skills, with ongoing training and support from the Registered Manager and multidisciplinary

Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team within health, social care, complex care or a similar environment.
  • Confident taking responsibility and providing leadership within a client's home and community-based care package.
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to reinforce these across a wider staff team.
  • Resilient, emotionally robust and comfortable supporting staff through challenging situations.
  • Positive, energetic and capable of creating the right culture within a new team.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organised, reliable and capable of maintaining consistency across a large support team.
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, challenging behaviour or complex needs would be highly advantageous.
  • A rehabilitation-focused approach and a genuine commitment to promoting independence.
  • Willingness to undertake extensive client-specific and multidisciplinary training.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service would be highly advantageous due to the anticipated mobilisation timescale.

Responsibilities

  • Take on an on-the-ground leadership role within a 2:1, 24-hour complex care package.
  • Lead and support a dedicated team of Support Workers.
  • Help establish a positive, professional and consistent culture across the package.
  • Ensure support remains person-centred and focused on rehabilitation, independence and positive outcomes.
  • Lead by example and maintain clear professional boundaries.
  • Support staff to understand the client's brain injury, cognition, communication and behaviours.
  • Ensure rehabilitation strategies are implemented by the team.
  • Work with the client’s family and multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain effective communication among staff, management and professionals.
  • Identify and address issues within the team to maintain package stability.
  • Support staff development and ongoing client-specific training.
  • Promote continuity of care across the wider team.

Job description

Complex Care Team Leader

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Pay rate: £19.00 per hour weekdays / £21.00 per hour weekends + Holiday Pay. Shifts and schedule: Working as part of a 24/7 complex care package. Exact hours and shift pattern to be confirmed.

Thriving Healthcare is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to take a key on-the-ground leadership role within a new complex care package in Rotherham.

You will lead a dedicated team supporting an individual living with a severe acquired brain injury and significant physical disabilities in their own home.

This is much more than a traditional senior Support Worker position.

We are looking for somebody capable of taking ownership and accountability at package level - building a positive culture within the team, maintaining professional standards, promoting consistency and ensuring the client's rehabilitation goals remain at the heart of the support being delivered.

Our client is articulate, engaging, funny and sociable, but their brain injury significantly affects their cognition, behaviour and relationships. The successful Team Leader will therefore need to understand the importance of professional boundaries, consistency, resilience and relationship-building within complex care.

You will work closely with Thriving Healthcare's Registered Manager and the wider multidisciplinary team to establish a stable, well-trained and rehabilitation-focused support team around the client.

Salary & Benefits
  • £19.00 per hour weekdays. + Holiday Pay
  • £21.00 per hour weekends. + Holiday Pay
  • Holiday pay can be taken with weekly pay, or accrued and taken on request - no time limits or cut offs.
