Job summary

Jane Lewis Healthcare Recruitment seeks a Team Leader for our client in Hinckley, Leicestershire. You will work 42 hours per week on a rota, including every other weekend, and handle day shifts with a salary of £33,397.59 FTE per annum pro rata.

You will manage shifts, lead staff, support residents with personal care, and ensure safety and dignity while promoting independence and equal opportunities.

Qualifications

  • QCF/NVQ level 3+ in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
  • Experience in a Neuro care setting.
  • Experience within the care sector.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • Confidence in leading a team.
  • Experience reviewing and writing care support plans and risk assessments.
  • Understanding Mental Capacity Assessments and DOLs.
  • Experience liaising with allied health professionals such as GPs, Social Workers, District nurses.
  • Basic IT, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience with Nourish or PCS would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the running of the shift, delegating and planning activities and responsibilities to staff as appropriate and dealing with any issues as they arise.
  • Support residents with personal care while respecting privacy and promoting independence.
  • Promote equality and diversity for all residents and staff.
  • Administer prescribed medication according to care plans and risk assessments.
  • Assist with the residents' physical environment and daily activities of the home.
  • Maintain effective communication and interaction with others.
  • Keep residents safe and uphold their human rights.

Overview

We have an wonderful opportunity for a Team Leader to join our supportive and friendly client in Hinckley, Leicestershire. Our highly trained teams support up to 17 residents to develop skills and gain independence in a way that suits them. We provide personalised care to our residents, where they can work towards achievable, set goals. We work with acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation and enablement, supporting everyone to develop skills and gain independence in a way that suits them.


What you'll be working

You will be working a total of 42 hours per week, on a rota basis working every other weekend.



  • Full time - Days

  • Annual salary: £33,397.59 (FTE Per Annum Pro rata)


What you'll be doing


  • Manage the running of the shift, delegating and planning activities and responsibilities to staff as appropriate and dealing with any issues and problems as they arise

  • Share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the privacy and dignity of the individual and promotes independence

  • Have a commitment to equal opportunities and to promote the equality of all without reference to (among others) gender, race ethnicity, religion, sexuality, marital status, age and disability

  • Administers prescribed medication in accordance with the relevant procedures, individual care plans and risk assessments pertaining to the same

  • Help in the care of the residents physical environment and in the general day to day activities of the home

  • Competent in effective communication skills incorporating technical knowledge and interaction with others

  • Keeping people safe from any harm and protecting their human rights.


What you'll have


  • QCF / NVQ level 3 or above in Health and Social Care or Willing to work towards or having relevant work experience.

  • Previous experience within a Neuro care setting

  • Experience working within the care sector

  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS

  • Confidence leading a team

  • Experience in reviewing and writing care support plans and risk assessments

  • Sound understanding of Mental Capacity Assessments and DOLs

  • Competence in completing staff supervisions and appraisals (desirable but not essential)

  • Experience liaising with allied health professionals such as GPs, Social Workers, District nurses etc.

  • Basic IT skills, as well as good numeracy and literacy skills

  • Experience with Nourish or PCS would be an advantage
