Job summary

Harmony HealthCare is seeking a Compassionate Female Support Worker to assist a 31-year-old woman with complex physical and mental health needs at her home in Eastbourne. The role requires a full UK driving licence and comfort with dogs, including walking the Cockapoo.

You will support daily routines, encourage independence, and promote social activities within a 2:1 daytime and 1:1 overnight care framework.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with mental health needs.
• Experience supporting individuals with autism.
• Understanding of self-harm and ability to respond calmly.

Responsibilities

• Providing 2:1 support during the day and 1:1 support overnight.
• Supporting daily routines while promoting dignity, independence and choice.
• Providing medication prompts and supporting medication routines.
• Supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing of the service user.
• Maintaining a calm, patient and reassuring approach in challenging situations.
• Assisting with self-harm history and risk management plans as agreed.
• Encouraging reading, writing and other hobbies and interests.
• Driving the service user to appointments and activities.
• Preparing lunch and dinner for the service user.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable home environment.
• Completing household tasks and helping keep living space tidy.
• Walking and caring for the family dog (Cockapoo).
• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns.
