Job summary

Wetherby Kensington School is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting teaching and learning for boys from Reception to Year 3. You will work closely with class teachers to create a safe, engaging environment that promotes curiosity and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children in a school setting, strong safeguarding knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learning in a classroom setting.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional conduct in schools.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with children, staff and parents.
• Warm, patient, proactive approach with high expectations for pupil engagement.
• Willingness to support across various class activities.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Help create a stimulating, well-organised classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and social development.
• Observe, record and share student progress with staff.
• Support pupils with additional needs where required.
• Supervise pupils during breaks, trips and events.
• Assist with learning materials and classroom displays.
• Contribute to routines, transitions and day-to-day organisation.
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies.
