Job summary

Wetherby Kensington is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting teaching and learning. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a school setting, strong safeguarding knowledge, and excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with children,

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Strong safeguarding and professional conduct knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, patient, proactive approach with high expectations for pupil engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and child-centred learning experiences.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and support progress.
• Help create and maintain a stimulating, well-organised, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development using supportive approaches.
• Assist in observing, recording, and sharing student progress with teaching staff.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs where required.
• Supervise pupils during break times, lunch, school trips, and events.
• Assist with preparation of learning materials, classroom displays, and resources.
• Contribute to classroom routines, transitions, and day-to-day organisation.
• Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and child protection policies at all times.
