Job summary

Academics is seeking an empathetic Teaching Assistant for flexible daily supply, short-term, and long-term opportunities across The Wirral's secondary schools, with a September start.

Ideal for psychology or education graduates, you will support pupils aged 11–16, build confidence, and adapt learning materials. A patient, resilient approach and ability to relate to teenagers are essential; Enhanced DBS via Update Service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people aged 11–16 in education, youth work or care settings.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with teenagers.
• Ability to adapt learning materials to individual needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion in schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support aligned to lesson plans.
• Support pupils with SEND and manage classroom dynamics.
• Collaborate with teachers to minimise distractions and ensure inclusivity.
• Choose flexible daily supply or full-time block placements across Wirral schools.
