Job summary

Care Support Scotland is seeking dedicated Support Workers to assist individuals experiencing homelessness across Midlothian, including Dalkeith and surrounding areas. You will provide person-centred support, help with daily living tasks and work to enable independent living and better wellbeing.

The role involves day and night shifts, a permanent contract, and a commitment to dignity, respect and inclusion. Join a team making a meaningful difference in the community.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care, homelessness support or similar roles is desirable.
• A compassionate, resilient and person-centred approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Support service users to develop and sustain independent living skills.
• Assist with day-to-day routines, budgeting, meal preparation and maintaining accommodation.
• Provide emotional support to build confidence and resilience.
• Help individuals access and sustain accommodation with landlords and housing services.
• Support with appointments (health, benefits, housing, employment services).
