Job summary

21 Health & Social Care are recruiting Support Workers on behalf of Care Support Scotland to join homelessness services across Midlothian. This permanent, full-time role (36 hours per week) offers day and night shifts and a pay of £13.45 per hour.

You will deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing homelessness, helping them develop independent living skills and access accommodation with liaison to landlords and housing services.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care, homelessness support, or similar role is beneficial but not required.
• Compassionate, resilient and person-centred approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Assist with day-to-day routines, including budgeting, meal preparation and maintaining accommodation.
• Provide emotional support to build confidence and resilience.
• Help individuals access and sustain accommodation, liaising with landlords and housing services.
• Carry out risk assessments and follow safeguarding procedures to ensure safety and wellbeing.
