Job summary

Case Management Cymru in Cardiff is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist a young adult with cerebral palsy in daily living, personal care and mobility. The role involves 12 hours per week over two 6-hour shifts, one weekday and one weekend, between 9am and 5pm, with flexibility essential.

Induction and training are provided, and the role is subject to an Enhanced level DBS. A driver is essential, and the client benefits from mileage allowance and direct support within a trusted

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young adults with personal care needs.
• Experience of supporting people with significant communication impairments.
• Must be able to drive and have use of a car; willing to drive Motability van.
• Ability to work flexibly hours including weekends.
• Willingness to register with Social Care Wales.
• Comfortable working in a household with cats.

Responsibilities

• Help client engage in activities they enjoy (bowling, cinema, concerts).
• Support daily living tasks, personal care, mobility and therapy appointments.
• Assist with rehabilitation programme and attendance at appointments.
• Be calm and patient, with a supportive team led by parents and case manager.
• Participate in client induction and training; DBS enhanced level required.
