Job summary

GSL Education seeks a SEND Intervention Practitioner in Folkestone to deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions, supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, and speech and language needs. The role requires safeguarding awareness, teamwork, and a compassionate, adaptable approach.

The position is full-time, long-term supply in a specialist school, with a daily pay rate of £93.33+ depending on experience. Start ASAP, with Monday–Friday routine and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in a school, care, or similar setting.
• Demonstrate nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Meet safer recruitment requirements.
• Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to support pupils' learning and development.
• Help pupils develop communication skills, sensory regulation, and emotional wellbeing.
• Apply calm, consistent, and positive strategies to support behaviour and regulation.
• Work closely with teachers and specialist staff to maintain a structured, inclusive learning environment.
• Implement EHCPs and personalised learning strategies.
• Encourage independence, daily living skills, and personal autonomy.
• Monitor pupils' progress and contribute to their ongoing development.
