Job summary

Leeds Womens Aid seeks a compassionate Refuge Night Worker (Female*) to join the out-of-hours team in Leeds on a 12-month maternity cover. The role is part-time (30 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday) and pays £21,840 per annum plus 50p night premium.

You will provide a 24-hour helpline service and specialist guidance to residents at the refuge, supporting victim-survivors and working within a multi-agency environment, always prioritising safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience of telephone-based and/or customer service advice or support work.
• Ability to work under pressure in stressful or difficult situations.
• Great listening skills.
• Able to work within an operational multi-agency environment.
• Able to lone work.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone-based support to victim-survivors via a 24-hour helpline.
• Offer specialist guidance to residents staying at the refuge.
• Work within an operational multi-agency environment.
• Manage high-pressure situations with composure and sensitivity.
