Job summary

GreenSquareAccord Limited in Birmingham is seeking a compassionate, motivated Homeless / Ex-Offender Support Worker. You will support people who have experienced homelessness, offending, and mental health challenges to build stability and independence.

The role involves working with housing, health, social care and criminal justice partners to provide tailored support. We offer shifts that cover early, mid, afternoon/evening, and sleep-ins, totaling a 35-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting vulnerable adults.
• Understanding of homelessness and supported housing.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and the challenges faced by homeless people and ex-offenders.
• Understanding of addiction, mental health and offending services.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and managing risk.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A commitment to equality, diversity and fairness.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to develop independent living skills and achieve positive outcomes.
• Build trusting relationships with clients and work with housing, health, social care, criminal justice and voluntary sector professionals.
• Ensure clients receive the right support at the right time and manage safeguarding concerns.
• Assist with risk management and ongoing support planning.
• Contribute to a collaborative working environment within homelessness, supported housing and criminal justice services.
