Job summary

Penderels Trust in Essex is seeking a part-time Personal Assistant to support a young person with special needs. The role involves assisting with personal care, transport to activities, and encouraging independence and social engagement.

You will help the individual access leisure activities, promote friendships, and build a trusted one-to-one relationship. DBS disclosure is required and costs are covered; the days are flexible to fit a 3-hour weekly schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care (e.g., toileting, showering, dressing).
• Support to get to and from school/work/activities.
• Support and/or prompt access to sporting and leisure activities.
• Assist and encourage socialisation and friendships.
• Develop a good and trusting one-to-one relationship.
• Carry out tasks as reasonably required; reflect varying daily needs.
• Report accidents or hazards promptly; ensure the safety of the individual.
