Job summary

Penderels Trust is seeking a care assistant to support a disabled individual at home. The role involves personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks on a 12-hour weekly rota with flexible timing. A valid car and business insurance are required for transport between visits.

Successful candidates will work closely with the individual to provide compassionate care, maintain hygiene and safety, and report any incidents. DBS checks are required and costs are covered by the employer.

Qualifications

• Previous caring experience is essential.
• Able to work flexibly and adapt to daily needs.
• NVQ2 trained or proven experience with similar needs.
• Be honest, reliable, and punctual.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
• Ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and homemaking.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Report accidents and safety hazards to the employer immediately.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
