Job summary

EMED Group is seeking compassionate Ambulance Care Assistants to join their Banbury team. You will transport patients to appointments and between facilities, working with a partner or independently. A full UK manual driving licence and physical fitness for manual handling are essential, along with DBS clearance and a patient-centric approach.

The role includes evenings and weekends with shifts from 05:00 to 01:00. A range of benefits and a supportive work culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual driving licence.
• Good level of physical fitness for manual handling.
• Able to pass Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
• Demonstrates empathy and effective communication with patients and families.
• Willing to work flexible shifts from 05:00 to 01:00, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, with or without a colleague.
• Assist with transferring patients between beds, stretchers and chairs, and help in and out of the ambulance.
• Lift, secure and assist patients during transport and at arrival at treatment centres or homes.
• Build rapport and communicate clearly with patients and their relatives/friends.
• Ensure ambulance remains clean, safe and well-maintained.
• Handover patients to appropriate staff on arrival at facilities.
